In year six, the children have been learning about World War Two. As part of their studies, they have listened to radio broadcasts from that period and learnt about the use of Standard English. Additionally, they have looked at recruitment posters and adverts, analysing the use of persuasive language in war propaganda. They worked in teams to write and deliver a news report on the Battle of Britain Day, a recruitment advert for the Women’s Land Army, a persuasive advert to install an Anderson Shelter and a weather report.
