Pupils at Marlborough St. Mary’s today took delivery of a range equipment to help them with their weekly cricket practice and general ball skills. Ed Puddick from Marlborough Cricket Club arrived with a consignment provided by Uzi Sports of Swindon, that included a variety of balls, tees and rebound nets, all designed to help the children have fun developing their batting, bowling, catching and throwing. As well as balls for Kwik Cricket there were ‘random bounce’ balls that will test the young cricketers’ reactions, especially when used with the two top-of-the-range ‘Crazy Catch’ nets. The equipment was funded by the generous donations of players, spectators and supporters at Marlborough CC’s 2017 Mayor’s Match, which raised £335. This year’s match will be on the 18th July and will be raising money for the Swindon-based children’s cancer charity Fatboy’s.
