Dear Parents/Carers
Plate Tombola
Your child has been given a plate so that they can take part in the plate tombola competition.
In order to raise money for school funds every pupil has been given a plate to take home. Please could you help your child to decorate the plate with items which would be to the value of at least £1. Your child can then bring the plate back to enter our plate competition and donate it to the tombola. There will be a prize for the best decorated plate in each class. We will judge the best plate in each class. Judging will be at 9am on the morning of the Christmas Fayre.
At our Christmas Fayre on Friday 25th November you will be able to buy a tombola ticket for £1. You will take the plate which has the same number as the ticket, so you could win a prize winning plate!
This is always a very popular stall so we hope you will be early at the Christmas Fayre to enable you to get your tombola plate. I am sure you will be surprised at the huge range of creative entries!
The children will have a couple of examples of plates shown to them in assembly – they will be available at the reception if you would like to glean some ideas! Some plates are just wonderful Christmas table decorations with a £1 included in it. To make this fair please could you stick to the following guidelines:
- No unwrapped sweets or cakes (we would be unable to put them on the tombola for hygiene reasons)
- Make sure that the value of the plate is worth at least £1 (we don’t want to disappoint anyone!)
- Your decorations can be as exciting as you like but please don’t have anything on the plate that would harm a child.
- Please remember to put the child’s name and their class name on the back of the plate before you begin!
Have fun! We look forward to you bringing the plates to school any time after Monday 21st November and hope you will enjoy your chances at the tombola on the Friday!
Kind regards
